I am SYDNEY SCHUNK
BELIEVER | WIFE | PHOTOGRAPHER
I am certain
our lives are intricate stories written by the LORD.
Masterfully, and uniquely designed.
One-of-a-kind creations to be preserved.
My love for photography, and love for my husband began simultaneously in 2018.
I was a senior nearing graduation, and Jacob, my then-high-school-sweetheart, was preparing to compete in diving at state.
My parents gifted me a camera for graduation. After a practice run at Jacob's meet and a few sessions in between, I booked my very first paid photo session with a fellow classmate for her senior portraits. What joy did photography instantly bring my soul!
My passion for photography sprouted from that first session, and over the course of my studies in college, curating memories quickly became the career I had always prayed for.
Now, in the LORD's incredible way, my business has developed into an LLC, accompanied by my beloved husband, as we have served hundreds of beautiful souls, documenting each person's history.

It Takes Two
Since the beginning of my photography career, Jacob has been at the forefront of helping me run this business. He's gone to more sessions than I can count, assisting with anything from lighting, to carrying camera bags and client belongings between locations, and finding the best smiles from everyone.
On wedding days, Jacob is my second-photographer and associate, working throughout the day to make our bride + groom's days a little easier. He's mastered the perfect veil toss and provides a second set of eyes on all the key details, helping me document special moments more thoroughly.
I'm a firm believer that the Lord's plans, since the moment I picked up a camera for the very first time, was to build a career that encompasses our life as husband and wife, serving others for God's glory.

Get in the Word
Above all things in my life, my number one focus is serving, honoring, and glorifying the LORD. In doing so, some of my favorite things to do is celebrate our Savior on Sunday mornings and Thursday evenings with my best friend, do daily Bible studies, and listen to praise and worship all day long.

Bake Away
I've always had a passion for baking, cooking, and trying all kinds of new recipes. From fresh baked sourdough to homemade coffee syrup, there isn't a recipe I wouldn't try making!
Creating New Spaces
Had I not pursued photography, I' probably would've gone the route of interior design. Growing up watching HGTV, and enduring the Fixer Upper Shiplap stage (which, I still love), I've enjoyed curating a unique, cozy style for our home. You can find me at thrift shops & antique stores, frequently searching for the next treasure. This adorable nook brought so much inspiration from our trip to Frankenmuth, MI.

OUR MISSION
letting his light shine
One Photo at a Time

James 1:17 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from above. The Lord's blessing of creativity and entrepreneurship are detailed in scripture (Exodus 3:13 and Proverbs 31:10-31). Rather than embracing these gifts for personal gain, these gifts are for His glory alone, all while serving others. To see more of SSP's ministry, visit Soli Deo Gloria.

"In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
MATTHEW 5:16
